You Don’t Need More Information—You Need the Right Room

Hey friends!

Most people who want to invest in real estate don’t stall out because they lack information.

They stall because they’re trying to figure it out alone.

In a world where podcasts, books, YouTube videos, and online courses are endless, it’s easy to believe that one more piece of information will be the thing that finally gives you clarity. But after more than a decade in real estate, I’ve seen something else make the biggest difference—community.

Getting in the Room Shortens the Learning Curve

My own investing journey began in 2012 when I attended my first real estate investing conference. I didn’t have a background in investing, and I didn’t feel particularly confident walking into that room—but what I found changed everything.

For the first time, I was surrounded by people who were actually doing what I wanted to do. They weren’t just talking about real estate—they were buying properties, navigating challenges, making mistakes, and adjusting strategies as markets changed.

Those early conferences and meetups didn’t just teach me concepts. They introduced me to relationships—many of which I still rely on today.

Why Community Actually Matters

Being in the right rooms accelerates growth in three important ways:

You gain borrowed experience.
When you’re around experienced investors, you learn faster—often avoiding costly mistakes simply by listening.

Your perspective shifts.
Seeing others succeed makes investing feel achievable, not theoretical. Proximity changes belief.

You move sooner.
Community doesn’t eliminate fear, but it provides context. Having people to talk things through with builds confidence and momentum.

Over the years, being part of the right communities has led to millions of dollars in real estate transactions, better decision-making as markets evolved, and the courage to act when opportunities presented themselves.

What Community Is Meant to Be

This is exactly why Idaho Real Estate Investor Network exists.

Idaho REIN was created to be a space where relationships come before transactions, where you don’t have to pretend to know everything, and where learning happens simply by being in the room with others who are walking a similar path.

If you’re local to Idaho, our Connection Social events are designed to be relaxed, welcoming, and pressure-free—no pitching, no posturing, just real conversations.

If you’re not in Idaho, you can still prioritize community by finding a local real estate investing group through National REIA.

The Bottom Line

If you’ve been learning but not quite moving yet, the answer may not be more information.

It may simply be getting in the right room.

And when you do, everything changes.
