Idaho Makes the Top 10 on Another Growth List

As we all know, Idaho has been one of the fastest-growing states in the nation for the past several years, consistently ranking highly for population growth. Last summer a University of Idaho study found that approximately one in four people are new to the state, and this recently released U-Haul study has backed up those findings.

The Treasure Valley is officially the home of not one, not two, not three - but four James Beard award-nominated chefs. Noted in the "Best Chef: Mountain" division, Salvador Alamilla of Amano in Caldwell; and three others from Boise: Dan Ansotegui, Ansots; Kris Komori, KIN; and Kibrom Milash, Kibrom’s Ethiopian and Eritrean Food. Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Propose Casino Outside Mountain Home

Back in 2020, the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes bought 157 acres right outside of Mountain Home. Consisting of 2,000 gaming machines, 250 hotel rooms, 6 food and beverage venues, a 15,000 sq. ft. event center, and an outdoor race track and concert venue - they are estimating it will generate $187 million annually for the local community.
Boise Has a New #1 Radio Station — and It Comes as a Bit of a Surprise

According to Nielsen Audio's 2022 rating report, 107.9 Lite FM won the "12-plus" category. Said to play "the best variety of the '80s, '90s, and today", the radio station nearly tripled its spring number - soaring from a 2.3 share to a 6.2.

Not feeling the flowers, chocolates, and champagne vibe? Does your Valentine have a funny bone? Zoo Boise has you covered. Treat your special someone by naming a cockroach after them, yes, seriously. For $20, you can name a zoo cockroach after your Valentine. The name will also be listed on Zoo Boise's website. There is a disclaimer, all names must be approved by zoo staff, because yes, even cockroach names have limits.
